Corporate Social Responsibility
At Rivera Publications, we are committed to increase the value of scientific research and to make it freely accessible to the public community beyond social and economic barriers. In this 21st century, where the information is freely accessible on the internet, our aim is to upscale our publishing model to ensure that the valuable contribution of the scholars does not go unrecognized. That said, we are adamant on driving the cost of publishing down and increasing the dissemination of the scholarly information through internet.
We work solely to drive the cost of open access publishing to minimum, while maintaining the quality and integrity of a standard review process.
At Rivera, we are stringent on exercising scholarly open access model by:
Open Access refers to the unrestricted access to online published content. Research published under the Open Access model is freely and permanently available on the internet. This model allows anyone and everyone to use, download, distribute or modify the content, provided that the original source is properly cited.
All the work published under Rivera Publications is under Creative Commons Attribution License (CC BY), which allows reader to copy, distribute, display, perform the work, and make derivatives, only if the original source/author is properly credited.
Rivera Publications is a strong supporter of Open Access, and we are adamant on providing a solution to the existing serial crisis and the restrictions on the research dissemination using the traditional subscription policy. We believe that removing barriers from the distribution of published research will help accelerate research and open doors to innovation. At Rivera Publication, under Open Access, we particularly target low- and middle-income countries, where public universities and libraries are facing stubborn challenge of subscriptions owing to the rising subscription costs, gain unrestricted access to published research.
Rivera Publications charge a minimal processing fee for publication of research work, which accounts for costs involved in peer-review, hosting and maintenance, online archiving, and processing of the submitted papers. We follow a robust and transparent peer-review process in order to ensure quality of the published content. The Article Processing Charge (APC) has been kept very low so as to allow researchers from under-developed and developing countries publish and share their work on a global scale.
All articles published in our journals are open access and are immediately available online upon publication.
Thus, our journals differ from standard journals fundamentally because articles are not published behind subscription paywalls and are therefore accessible to anyone with an internet connection. We do not have a print version and instead publish articles in a continuous format online. To make up for the costs of publishing we ask authors to pay an article processing charge (APC) if their article is accepted. It is free to submit, and the charge is used to cover the cost of publishing, including peer review, hosting the article online, and liaison with abstracting and indexing services and customer services.
We ask authors to pay an article processing charge to cover the costs we incur in preparing their article for publication. However, we understand that not all authors have grants which fund the publication of all, or even part of the publishing fee, and this is why we operate a ‘pay what you can afford’ model.
This means that if your article is accepted we will ask you to tell us how much you are able to pay.
We will still publish articles from authors for free who do not have access to funding, as long as their work passes the peer review process.
In this way, we can carry on publishing research from low and middle-income countries and from authors who have little or no funding, but those authors who have access to funds for publication are able to pay for the professional publishing services they have received.
The current Article Processing Charges (APC) for our journals:

At present, the research community is flooded with numerous open access publishers. Then again, the question remains: Why is there a need for a new open access publisher?
In this fast-paced world, where people are engaged in doing momentous things, we consider our role crucial to publish their findings and deliver the research to widest possible audience. While there are some big players in this industry, offering some of the best features and robust customer service, the charges are too high, especially for authors belonging to developing countries. Similarly, there are publishers who—with low article processing charges—claim to offer a transparent and quick review process, but are questionable on some or the other grounds. Thus, in order to minimize the cost of publishing, while maintaining the review quality, we have designed our open access model in such a way so as to allow authors—with limited funding—publish and share their research with the audience it deserves.
At Rivera, we aim to publish knowledge efficiently. Our Editors who run the review process will give you a fair and constructive feedback. With our devoted team of editorial staff and deep industry expertise, we aim to significantly contribute to this industry and to the scientific community, while providing authors a unique publishing experience at a very affordable cost.
